Our jerky and trail stick products are produced with minimal preservatives, such that they should be stored in the freezer. Upon receipt of these products, they are good indefinitely in the freezer, 30 days in the refrigerator and 10-14 days on the shelf before they will grow mold and should be discarded. Processing in this way is intentional for both health and quality reasons. Large quantities of preservatives are generally unhealthy and has a huge impact on the flavor of the product. These products are very popular with our customer base for this very reason and after trying more than 10 other processes for fully shelf-stable jerky and trail sticks, we have been unhappy with all outcomes regards flavor and texture.
